Chesapeake Energy was conceptualized over 20 years and has grown into one of the largest natural gas companies in the nation. The company is based out of Oklahoma City, yet their breadth of industry stretches into many states. Chesapeake focuses on producing clean affordable natural gas for their consumers. They are known for developing alternative ways of drilling onshore.
AskChesapeake.com is a public relations tool that allows Chesapeake to connect with residents that live near drilling sites as well as consumers that might have questions about the company. For the site to fulfill its promise of being a useful tool for these two groups of people, the site needed to be organized and user friendly. The former site's information structure was cluttered, difficult to navigate and lacked the consistent branding flow of the other Chesapeake sites.
The user is now the focus of AskChesapeake.com. The usability of the site is simple and straightforward. We accomplished this feat by working closely with Chesapeake's Interactive Department to organize information effectively. The look and feel of the entire site is crisp and clean, yet distinctive enough to set itself apart from other Chesapeake sites.
In addition to the new site being user friendly for the public, it is also a better solution for the Chesapeake Interactive Department. Since information on the site is now more organized, maintenance of site content is faster and easier. We received solid feedback from Chesapeake staff as well as satellite offices that are represented on the site, stating that the new look is a solid representation of the Chesapeake company. AskChesapeake.com was recently recognized by the American Advertising Federation and received an ADDY Award for its distinctive style and usability.
